Quitting Alcohol Successfully - Keep A Journal

Best time to quit
When you start to try to quit alcohol you will want to keep a journal. In your journal you can record those things that trigger you like I outlined above.
Recording triggers is one way of learning how to avoid them and to reduce their influence over you.
You can also use your journal to record how you are feeling health wise with quitting alcohol and all your successes.

You can then use the journal to look back over how you did, learn from your mistakes and celebrate making your goals.

Quitting Alcohol Successfully - Avoid Trigger Situations

Quitting alcohol is not so hard
If you want to quit alcohol successfully you are going to have to avoid situations that make it easier to drink - this could mean avoiding going to bars, hanging out with certain friends and staying away from certain social settings.
This doesn't mean you have to stop having fun - merely that you have to work on temporarily staying away from your triggers until you have replaced them with more healthy alternatives like running or hiking for instance.
Once you figure out those triggers you can start trying to add some of those things back into your life a little at a time.
